Meghan met Palm Crescent, “Palmer”, while working for Jan Byyny in 2011. Palmer, a graduate of CANTER MidAtlantic, was just a young horse with a lot of raw talent at the time. Produced through the Preliminary level by Jan and then purchased by the Shipka family for their daughter Chase, he continued to thrive as an event horse. Chase and Palmer competed through the Intermediate level together with much success, including a win at the Virginia CCI* in the fall of 2013.

While Meghan was based out of Darcie Shipka’s barn in Virginia for the summer of 2015 she was graciously asked to take over the ride on Palmer while Chase focused her time on school. They quickly formed a partnership, as Palmer reminds Meghan of Pirate in a lot of ways, and had a successful fall season. Following a couple of events to establish their qualifications as a pair, Meghan and Palm Crescent finished 5th in the CIC* division at Plantation Field Horse Trials and capped off the year with a stellar 7th place finish in a huge field at the CCI** division at the Dutta Corp. Fair Hill International. Meghan has high hopes for the promising Palm Crescent in 2016 and beyond.
